As a Blogger for over 10 years now and a Digital Strategist & Website Designer for the past 5 years, I can say for a fact that a clean, optimized and beautifully designed website or blog is a complete game-changer.
First, it sets the all-important first impression about your credibility as a business owner or professional blogger.
The design of your blog may not be the ultimate measure of authority or credibility (hint: your content is), but it sure makes or breaks that first impression.
First-time visitors come into your site without any idea about who you are and you only have a small window of opportunity to capture their attention. Your website’s design is an important factor for people to look closer and to want to know you more.
Second, it changes the way readers find and consume your content.
An optimized and reader-friendly website gets extra points in User Experience and Usability—two things that are important not just to build credibility but for better SEO.
Consequently, a mobile responsive and professionally designed website gives readers the ease and the comfort of navigating your pages and reading your content.
Third, it changes your creative process in major ways.
I truly believe that as a blogger, your number one target reader is YOURSELF. Even when you have to write with your target audience in mind, you are drawing inspiration from YOUR personal experience and ultimately writing for people who are like YOU in many ways.
That said, when you love the way your blog looks, aren’t you more motivated to work on it, update it, and proudly share it with the world? (Aha!) This is exactly why I redesign my blog basically every year. It gets my creativity going and motivates me to crank up on new content.
And this is why my job as a Web Designer is quite important.
Haha. Kidding. Not kidding. Well. Half-kidding.
What I’m trying to say is, this is why you need a clean, optimized and beautifully designed blog if you’re serious about generating an income from it, turning it into a career, or building a business out of it.
Understandably, however, commissioning a Website Designer to work on your blog costs a lot of cash. Industry rates can go from $2,000 to as high as $10,000. If you download my design rates (shameless plug) you would know that my packages are comparatively lower (hint: they start at $600), only because I’m doing this as a sideline gig in a city where the cost of living is so much lower than wherever my fellow Web Designers are.
Ok, ok, I know even $600 is still a hefty price for starters.
If you just started thinking about launching a blog, or you’re a small business owner who doesn’t have that much of a budget to invest yet, I understand your hesitation.
But are you really going to wait to have the budget before you start making things happen?
You have to do something TODAY! Start that blog already. Make it beautiful. Launch it the right way.
Good news for you, there are ways you can launch a beautifully and professionally designed blog or website without hiring a designer at all.
Annnnd at the expense of losing potential clients (I don’t mind, as long as you get started already!), I want to share with you how to launch a beautiful blog without hiring a designer.
Two words, four syllables:
By the way, this blog you’re reading right now is built on WordPress using the Genesis framework. Beyond personal consumption, I always recommend Genesis to my website design clients simply because it’s the best out there.
And mind you, I’ve tried A LOT of blogging platforms and themes in the past 10 years.
With over 500,000 users around the world, the WordPress-Genesis combo has been proven and tested for years, the reason why many industry leaders, SEO experts, digital agencies, and web developers continue to use it and recommend it to everyone.
If you’re hearing these words for the first time, WordPress is one of the most flexible and widely used Content Management System people use to publish content online. Genesis is a framework that’s built to customize and optimize WordPress.
In other words, Genesis is WordPress on steroids. ;)
Studiopress, on the other hand, makes these Genesis-powered WordPress sites all pretty and user friendly.
I know, I know. That’s a lot of information to take in.
I can’t blame you. It took me YEARS to understand all of these. To be honest, it’s so hard to explain how to set up a blog to new and aspiring bloggers. There’s just too much information to digest, and we haven’t even started on domain registration, and hosting, and SEO, and mobile compatibility, and HTML codes *crickets*.
By the time we begin talking about the design, you’re probably too overwhelmed to even get started.
And so when Studiopress announced that it’s coming out with hosted sites, I was just beaming all over. Still beaming.
It’s the ultimate solution to all of the overwhelming steps and details you need to think about to launch a blog, and it’s now LIVE for all of us to enjoy, both aspiring and established bloggers alike.
With Studiopress Sites, you can easily launch a beautiful, professional looking blog—no need to hire a designer. Not to mention,
- You don’t have to think about web hosting—and Cpanels and FTP and all the technical back-end stuff you don’t have the time in the world to learn—ever again. They’ll manage these stuff for you.
- You get an industry-standard framework, built-in SEO functionality, and an arsenal of plugins for whatever add-on functionalities you might need in the future. Which means, you immediately become at par with industry experts!
- You enjoy a world-class technical support and community to help you on your way.

Disclosure: Some of the links in this post are affiliate links, which means I earn a commission for any purchase made from this post, at no extra cost to you of course. That said, I only recommend brands that I trust and tried out myself, and Studiopress definitely goes into that criteria!
Check out these beautiful Studiopress themes for starters
I don’t know about you but that’s an ultimate Blog Designer haven right there. And that’s not even half of it!
You can in fact purchase the above WordPress themes at $129.95 per theme.
OR you can get started with Studiopress Sites at only $24/month or $297/year. Take note that this package is already inclusive of 20 beautiful WordPress themes like the ones above. Which also means you can try all 20 of them, if you want. ;)
When I launched my first hosted blog 10 years ago, I spent a LOT more than that. But because I was so convinced that it would generate me a stable income, support a profession I’m passionate about, and serve as my very own “creative playground”, I didn’t even have second thoughts about the small price I have to pay.
It was the best investment, ever. :)
And now it’s your turn to make that decision. I hope you make the right one!
For aspiring bloggers and website owners

Yep, be done with all the technical and design stuff so you can focus on actually blogging. If that makes sense to you, then Get Your StudioPress Site Here!
For established bloggers and business owners who want a cool change or better website solutions
I took the liberty of asking Studiopress’ Digital Support if it’s possible to migrate an existing WordPress site to Studiopress and the answer is YES! Of course yes. There are two ways to do it:
- DIY Route: If you’re a bit more advanced in your knowledge of how WordPress and content migrations work, you can go the DIY route by using WordPress migration plugins.
- NO-HASSLE Route: Studiopress partnered with Fantasktic to provide a “no-hassle” option to Studiopress Sites users. Just give Fantasktic some basic information, and they’ll take you through the process.
As I said, I’m recommending Studiopress Sites at the risk of losing potential clients. (I mean, you can still always hire me you know, I won’t stop you! Lol.) But in this age of DIY and smarter options, I can’t help it, Studiopress is quite the contender!
